The Department of Information and Communications Technology has successfully conducted the Digital Governance Initiatives last 22 May 2019 in Iloilo City. The event was graced by participants from government agencies, commercial entities, academe, professional and civil society organizations from the Visayas region.
The event aimed to showcase the different plans, policies, and projects spearheaded by the National ICT Planning, Policy and Standards Bureau. These initiatives include the National ICT Ecosystem Framework (NICTEF), E-Government Masterplan (EGMP) 2022, National ICT Household Survey (NICTHS), Pipol Konek User feedback Analysis, Women’s ICT Development Index, National Broadband Plan Policies, and various ICT Standards, among others.
“NICTEF believes that the future holds promise for harnessing technology and innovation to provide opportunities for increased prosperity, productivity, earnings and even challenges across all sectors of the economy. It considers several interdependent framework elements as helpful in sustaining digital transformation and preparing the county for the future,” said Mr. Ruben Tadina of the Plans and Policy Development Division during his presentation.
