During the conduct of the Livelihood Exchange (LiveX) on 25 June 2019 at Puerto Princesa City, southern area of the Philippines, the DICT presented the National ICT Ecosystem Framework (NICTEF) to a great mix of audience from Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as local champions from Palawan and Mindanao regions.
Organized by the Palaweno ICT Association (PICTA), LiveX is an avenue for multistakeholder discourse on emerging trends such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. NICTEF, jointly developed by DICT and Internet Society (ISOC), was acknowledged as an authoritative source of ICT strategies in addressing industry and countryside development.
“[Projects] once incorporated in NICTEF, will bring stakeholders the much needed visibility – in recognition of the work and opportunities for industry initiatives matching,” said Engr. Dominador C. Garabiles, OIC of the DICT’s Plans and Policy Development Division.
LiveX is a pre-event of the 7th BIMP-EAGA ICT Cluster Meeting. As the Philippines embark on leveraging the waves of dynamism and in view of the country’s commitment in realizing the growth potential of the ICT industry, BIMP-EAGA is regarded as a strategic driver in furthering the opportunities of emerging technologies that transform and empower our people and our nation.
